Installing AutoOffload

macOS

Requirements: a Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 or newer) or an Intel processor, running macOS 11 or later.

Install

1. Download the AutoOffload .dmg from autooffload.com.
2. Open the downloaded .dmg.
3. Drag the AutoOffload icon into your Applications folder.
4. Eject the disk image and launch AutoOffload from Applications (or Spotlight).

First launch

AutoOffload is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so it should open normally. If macOS ever shows a security prompt:

• Right-click (or Control-click) the app and choose Open, then confirm; or
• Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll to the AutoOffload message, and click Open Anyway.

Permissions

The first time you offload, macOS asks AutoOffload for permission to access:

• Removable volumes (your SD / CFexpress cards), and
• Folders you copy into, such as Desktop, Documents, or Downloads.

Click Allow / OK when prompted — AutoOffload needs this to read your cards and write to your chosen destination. You can review or change these later under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Files and Folders (and Removable Volumes).

Updates

AutoOffload checks for updates and can install them in-app. You stay in control — it checks when you ask it to and tells you what's new before updating.

Windows

Requirements: Windows 10 or 11.

Install

AutoOffload is distributed through the Microsoft Store.

1. Open the AutoOffload listing in the Microsoft Store (linked from autooffload.com).
2. Click Get / Install.
3. Launch AutoOffload from the Start menu when it finishes installing.

Installing from the Store means Windows has already verified the app — you shouldn't see a "Windows protected your PC" SmartScreen warning. If you do (for example from a non-Store build), see Troubleshooting → Windows blocks the install.

Permissions

Windows may ask AutoOffload for access to your drives and to folders such as Documents or Pictures. Allow these so it can read your cards and write to your chosen destination. You can review app permissions under Settings → Privacy & security → File system.

Updates

Updates are delivered automatically through the Microsoft Store — there's nothing to do. (The Windows version doesn't self-update; the Store keeps it current.)

Trial & licensing

AutoOffload is free to install and includes 5 free offloads so you can try it on real shoots. To unlock unlimited offloads, buy a one-time license (no subscription) at autooffload.com/pricing — purchases are handled securely by Paddle, not the App Store or Microsoft Store — then activate it in the app. The license activation is the only time AutoOffload contacts a server; everything else runs offline.

Uninstalling

• macOS: quit AutoOffload, then drag it from Applications to the Trash.
• Windows: right-click AutoOffload in the Start menu and choose Uninstall, or remove it from Settings → Apps → Installed apps.

Uninstalling AutoOffload never touches the shoots you already offloaded — your files and their _autooffload manifest folders stay where they are.
