Does AutoOffload delete my files?

No. AutoOffload never deletes, moves, renames, or modifies anything on your source card or drive — it only reads from it, and that read-only rule is enforced in code. It also never deletes your originals after copying. You decide when to format a card, and only after you've confirmed a verified copy. (The one thing it deletes is a bad copy at the destination that failed verification — so a corrupt file never passes as good.)

Can I use it with SD cards?

Yes — SD, CFexpress, microSD, and similar camera cards, through any card reader your operating system recognizes. You can connect and offload several cards at once, and they copy in parallel.

Can I use external drives?

Yes, both as a source (offloading from a drive instead of a card) and as a destination. You can copy to more than one destination in a single pass — for example an edit drive and a backup drive together.

Does it work offline?

Almost entirely. The only time AutoOffload contacts a server is a one-time license activation. After that it runs fully offline — no account login, no cloud, no telemetry — and your media never leaves your computer; logs are local files.

What file types does it support?

AutoOffload copies the photo, video, and audio files cameras and recorders write, including:

• Photos: JPEG, HEIC/HEIF, PNG, TIFF, WebP, and most RAW formats — Canon (CR2/CR3/CRW), Nikon (NEF/NRW), Sony (ARW/SR2/SRF), Fujifilm (RAF), Panasonic (RW2), Olympus (ORF), Adobe DNG, and more.
• Video: MP4, MOV, M4V, AVI, MTS/M2TS, MXF, MKV, Blackmagic BRAW, Insta360 INSV, and similar.
• Audio: WAV/BWF, AIFF, FLAC, and other field-recorder formats (Zoom, Tascam, Sound Devices, etc.).

Files are sorted by capture time. For most stills that comes from the photo's own embedded metadata, so it's immune to your computer's timezone. Video, and Canon CR3/CRM and Fujifilm RAF stills, route by the file's timestamp instead — which still sorts them correctly in the normal case. (Cameras don't record reliable in-file timestamps for video, and embedded-metadata support for those two RAW formats is in progress.)

What happens if I unplug during a transfer?

Your files stay safe. AutoOffload writes each file to a temporary name and only puts it in place after it has copied and verified, so an interruption — unplugging, a crash, power loss, or canceling — never leaves a half-written file pretending to be real. Just run the offload again: it recognizes what already copied (by checksum) and finishes only the missing files. That said, it's always best to pause or cancel inside the app before disconnecting anything.

How does AutoOffload handle duplicates?

A file that's byte-for-byte identical to one already at the destination is recognized by checksum and skipped (which is what makes resuming an interrupted run safe). A file with the same name but different contents is kept alongside the original with a new numbered name — never overwritten. Filename collisions between two cameras are numbered apart automatically.

Can I organize a shoot by event, not just by date?

Yes. Time windows let you name spans of the day ("ceremony", "reception" — or one per listing) and AutoOffload routes each file into the right folder by when it was shot — across all your cards and cameras at once. Overnight and multi-day events are supported. You can also fully customize folder structure and file naming with templates, or just use the automatic date-based layout out of the box.

Do I need to verify my files again later?

It's a good habit. Copy-time verification proves the file was written correctly, but drives can develop bit-rot or corruption months later. AutoOffload writes a manifest with your files so it can re-verify a finished archive at any time — re-reading every file and confirming it still matches, or flagging what changed. It even reminds you when an archive is due for a check.

Is there a trial or a refund policy?

Will it slow down or wear out my cards?

AutoOffload reads each file from the card once, even when copying to multiple destinations, specifically to minimize card wear and total time. It never writes to the card at all.

Does AutoOffload transcode or generate proxies?

No — it offloads, organizes, and verifies, by design. It doesn't transcode, make proxies, or play back / cull your media, and it doesn't copy to cloud storage or LTO tape.
